The Salem NH church celebrated it's 40th Anniversary in 2000. The church was founded by a group of people led by Rev. Edythe M. Meader in Methuen, MA.
Over the years the Methuen church grew, merging first with a group in Haverhill MA and then with the Salem, NH church. During the early years, Sunday services were held in individuals homes.
Not having the financial resources to purchase and maintain a church building as the congregation grew required renting space to conduct services. The church eventually moved to Salem, NH, where we currently meet at the Masonic Hall each Sunday at 10:30AM.
Spirit communication and healing power is demonstrated as part of our religion. Each Sunday service begins with a Healing Service, where workers from our church take a healing chair and act as instruments of healing from Spirit. Anyone in the congregation is welcome to come forward to receive healing. The remainder of our service consists of a Lecture followed by Spirit Greetings, both delivered by a worker from our church or a visiting speaker. Every church service is followed by a fellowship hour. Refreshments are served and everyone has the opportunity to meet and greet others in the congregation. There is also an unfoldment circle Sunday afternoon, which usually begins around 1PM and runs for about an hour.
Classes are held each week on Wednesday evening where the Science and Philosophy of Spiritualism are taught and explored. Discussion and exercises are conducted to help the student develop as a Spiritualist Healer, Medium or Lecturer.
Members and non-members are welcome.
