Rev. Kenneth Wingood was born and raised in Lowell Massachusetts. He was the youngest of eight children and the only boy. Growing up in a city that hosts nationalities from all over the world, he was exposed to many religious traditions, and took an interest in each one. While he was working as an engineer in the 1960's, he became acquainted with a Spiritualist and explored this new religion. His primary interest has always been in the Healing work. He completed the necessary studies to become a Certified Healer. After his retirement, he continued his studies to become a Licentiate Minister and was Ordained as a Minister of NSAC in 1998.
From The Pastor's Desk:
Seeking a religion that I was comfortable with. I was an active member of a Christian church so that my children could learn about a Higher Power, the power that created this world and everything in it.
When they became indepentent, my search continued for a religion that I could be comfortable with and which gave me a good feeling that could light the way for me from week to week.
In the sixties I was working as a Machine Designer with a
Spiritualist who would talk about his new found religion. Being a member of a minority and not wanting to go anyplace I wasn't wanted, I asked him if I could attend his church. He said,
"All God's children are welcome".
That Sunday I went to The Church of Spiritualist Life, in Methuen,
Massachusetts, a small church of about fifteen to twenty people. First of all, I felt so welcome with no reservations. Next, the lecture was interesting, understandable and uplifting. Then in the message part of the service, the medium came to me and described my mother, who had passed to spirit many years earlier, and gave me a message of love and peace. I left that church with so much love and peace in my heart, knowing for the first time that my beloved mother was still near me, and that life was continuous after the change called death.
I have been a Spiritualist since that day. In my years of living, I
have visited many churches from orthodox to the way out anything goes types. I find all religions are great for those who believe, for
everyone needs to know there is a High Power. Spiritualism is not for everyone.
If you are happy with your religion, that is the place for you. For
"ALL ROADS THAT LEAD TO GOD ARE GOOD"
